Why Choose Baby Gear Group?

We all want to give our babies the best, but baby gear is needlessly expensive!  ​Researching and buying baby gear is stressful and overwhelming.  There are so many options, so much to research, and so much conflicting advice.  Baby Gear Group helps parents get the right baby gear, without anxiety, "mom guilt", or spending a fortune. 

​According to Parents.com, the average middle-income household spends $12,000 on baby's first year, with nearly $6,000 of that on baby gear!  Baby Gear Group can fulfill your baby gear needs for a fraction of the price.  

This is an especially tough time for expecting parents who aren't able to visit stores to try out items or even host baby showers.  Buying sight unseen is anxiety inducing, and relying on internet reviews or others' advice is information overload!

Every experienced parent has stories about money wasted on items that didn't work for their baby or their space.  For example, I got a certain stroller based on my sister-in-law's advice.  My first time out, I quickly realized this stroller had no shock adsorption and couldn't handle Philly streets.  My poor newborn was bouncing all over the place! 

Even some items I was so sure I wanted and splurged on, like a $200 swing and $1000 bassinet, baby ended up hating.  And, like most moms, I found myself desperately shopping online, middle of the night, baby in one arm, phone in the other, for anything that would get this baby to sleep for longer - $50 just for a sleep sack?? 

Whatever items do work, you only use for a few months because babies grow and change so quickly!  And what to do with all the stuff when you're done?  With a small city apartment, we simply didn't have space to store it.  I didn't have a energy to deal with internet selling.  So much money down the drain.  After becoming a more experienced mom, I found myself getting a lot of stuff second-hand and passing it on when done, which is essentially just renting!

So I created a service which would remove all of these points of anxiety, especially for new moms, who are worried about being able to get the things that will actually work for them and saving money and space. 

Baby Gear Group is a library of baby gear which allows you to check out items targeted for the baby’s first year and beyond – try a bunch of items, use what works, return when done. 

Better than a library though, the items are stocked to meet demand, so you'll never have to wait for another member to return something, and you can keep the item for as long as you'd like, or even purchase if you love it!  You can also select a membership where your items are always NEW. 

All this is for a flat membership fee, to reduce the "mental accounting" on the chronically sleep-deprived new mom brain.  (You'll know what I'm talking about soon enough!)  Don't let baby gear blow your budget.  If something like this were available to me back then, I would have tried the Halo bassinet, the Baby Bjorn bouncer, the Magic Merlin sleep suit, etc. without worrying that I might be wasting money, because it’d all be included in the flat membership fee.

How It Works

Baby Gear Group is a library of the most popular baby gear, except that we add stock to meet demand, and you can keep an item for as long as you need. 

Step 1:  Select your membership tier and register.  (You can change tiers or cancel at any time and your fee will be prorated.) 

Step 2:  Select your baby gear via website, email, or text.  New parents are busy - reach us however you can.  No new apps or passwords to deal with.  

Step 3:  We deliver your gear!  Please use them gently and take care of the items so that other members can enjoy also.  

Step 4:  Done with something?  Contact us via website, email, or text.  For smaller, shippable items, we will email you a return label so that you can drop it off in the mail.  For larger items, we will arrange for a pickup.  

Step 5:  Pick out new items and repeat!
